Today I completed my dissertation. Heute habe ich meine Dissertation abgeschlossen. Well, technically yesterday as it is now 01:24am and so technically it’s tomorrow, well… today. Nun, technisch wie gestern ist es jetzt 01.24 Uhr und so technisch ist es morgen, gut ... heute. You get what I mean. Sie bekommen, was ich meine. The key point is that I finished the dissertation. Der entscheidende Punkt ist, dass ich die Dissertation fertig. Now yes I do still have three essays and an exam to do, but it feels strangely like the end at the moment. Nun ja, ich kann immer noch drei Essays und eine Prüfung zu tun, aber es fühlt sich seltsam wie das Ende im Moment. The dissertation is such an important part of a degree that to complete it and hand it in (later today), well that’s an important moment I believe, it signifies the end of what has been now almost sixteen years of education. Die Dissertation ist so ein wichtiger Bestandteil der, dass ein gewisses Maß zu füllen Sie es aus und es in der Hand (heute), auch das ist ein wichtiger Moment, ich glaube, es bedeutet das Ende von dem, was war jetzt fast sechzehn Jahren Ausbildung.

This end of what I have known well that brings about new concerns. Diesem Zweck von dem, was ich wissen genau, dass sich bringt neue Sorgen. I never again have to worry about homework, or trying to think of new reasons why I shouldn’t go to school or more recently, new reasons why I shouldn’t go to a lecture. Ich habe nie wieder Sorgen um Hausaufgaben, oder versuchen zu denken, der neue Gründe, warum ich nicht zur Schule gehen oder in jüngster Zeit, neue Gründe, warum ich nicht gehen sollte, um einen Vortrag zu halten. No, now I need to worry about new things, things like bills, and taxes, and you know… the future. Nein, jetzt habe ich Grund zur Sorge über neue Dinge, Dinge wie Rechnungen und Steuern, und Sie wissen ... die Zukunft.

So, what is the future going to hold? Also, was ist die Zukunft gehen zu halten? Well… who knows. Nun ja ... wer weiß.

I want this blog to be one of my attempts at motivating, putting things in perspective, making people feel at ease. Ich möchte, dass dieses Blog zu einer meiner Versuche, motivierend, dass die Dinge in Perspektive, indem sie die Leute wohl fühlen. I am fairly sure in my mind that I am not alone, that you or at least some people you know are worried, unsure and uneasy about what may lay ahead in the very near future. Ich bin ziemlich sicher, dass in meinen Augen, dass ich nicht allein, dass Sie oder zumindest einige Personen, die Sie wissen, sind besorgt, unsicher und unruhig, was vor Mai lag in der sehr nahen Zukunft. But I am also fairly sure that there is only a very limited ability for a blog to put people at ease. Aber ich bin auch ziemlich sicher, dass es nur eine sehr begrenzte Fähigkeit für ein Blog, um Menschen zu erleichtern.

There is a quote for you, it’s from the film Stranger than Fiction and raises that very important point, your life is whatever you make it, if you choose to you could do nothing with your life but eat pancakes. What the film is trying to say (Or at least, how I interpreted it) is that life is whatever you make it. Someone may choose to live the type of life where they eat pancakes, the key thing is that they are still living. The same goes for us, our life is whatever we make of it. Das gleiche gilt für uns, unser Leben ist, was wir daraus machen.

I am uneasy about the future, I don’t know exactly what is going to happen. Ich bin beunruhigt über die Zukunft, ich weiß nicht genau, was passieren wird. I don’t know if I’ll get a job (So far I have been far from successful) nor do I know where I will live. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich dort einen Arbeitsplatz zu erhalten (Ich habe bisher weit von erfolgreichen) noch weiß ich, wo ich will leben. But that doesn’t mean I can’t look forward too it. Aber das bedeutet nicht, Ich kann mich nicht freuen uns auch sie. I know it will work out alright in the end and I for one am very excited. Ich weiß, es wird die Ordnung in dem Ende, und ich bin für ein sehr aufgeregt.

I am at a turning point, anyone who is finishing university or anyone else for that matter, is at a turning point. Ich bin an einem Wendepunkt, wer ist Finishing-Universität oder jeder andere für diese Angelegenheit, ist an einem Wendepunkt. We are forever able to make choices, we can choose to do whatever we please with our lives and make of it as we will. Wir sind immer der Lage, Entscheidungen treffen, wir können wählen, zu tun, was wir wenden Sie sich bitte mit unserem Leben und machen es wie wir. At this point, at this turn in the road, the world is our oyster! An diesem Punkt, an dieser biegen Sie in die Straße, die Welt ist unser Auster! Do you want to eat pancakes? Möchten Sie essen Pfannkuchen? Or maybe you prefer waffles? Oder vielleicht sind Sie es bevorzugen, Waffeln? Maybe you just want a nice job, a family, a nice car, you know… traditional stuff. Vielleicht möchten Sie nur einen netten Job, eine Familie, ein schönes Auto, Sie wissen ... traditionellen Zeug. Either way, your life is what you decide it should be. So oder so, Ihr Leben ist das, was Sie sich entscheiden sollte es auch sein. It is as the film says, inextricably contingent upon the type of life being led. Es ist, als der Film sagt, untrennbar, die von der Art des Lebens geführt.

So go out there! So go out there! Do what you will with your lives and have fun! Tun, was Sie mit Ihrem Leben und haben Spaß!
