Today I completed my dissertation. Oggi ho completato la mia tesi di laurea. Well, technically yesterday as it is now 01:24am and so technically it’s tomorrow, well… today. Ebbene, ieri come tecnicamente è ora 01:24 del mattino e in modo tecnicamente è domani, anche oggi .... You get what I mean. È possibile ottenere quello che voglio dire. The key point is that I finished the dissertation. Il punto chiave è che ho finito la tesi. Now yes I do still have three essays and an exam to do, but it feels strangely like the end at the moment. Ora sì che faccio ancora tre saggi e un esame da fare, ma stranamente ci si sente come il fine per il momento. The dissertation is such an important part of a degree that to complete it and hand it in (later today), well that’s an important moment I believe, it signifies the end of what has been now almost sixteen years of education. La tesi è una parte così importante di una laurea che per completare e in parte (più tardi), oltre che di un momento importante a mio avviso, significa la fine di ciò che è stato ormai quasi sedici anni di istruzione.

This end of what I have known well that brings about new concerns. Questo fine di ciò che ho conosciuto e che porta sulle nuove preoccupazioni. I never again have to worry about homework, or trying to think of new reasons why I shouldn’t go to school or more recently, new reasons why I shouldn’t go to a lecture. Ho mai più necessario preoccuparsi di casa, o cercando di pensare a nuovi motivi per cui io non dovrebbe andare a scuola o più di recente, nuovi motivi per cui io non dovrebbe andare a una lezione. No, now I need to worry about new things, things like bills, and taxes, and you know… the future. No, ora ho bisogno di preoccuparsi di cose nuove, cose come fatture, e le tasse, e lei lo sa ... il futuro.

So, what is the future going to hold? Allora, qual è il futuro di tenere andando? Well… who knows. Beh ... chi lo sa.

I want this blog to be one of my attempts at motivating, putting things in perspective, making people feel at ease. Voglio questo blog, per essere uno dei miei tentativi di motivare, mettendo le cose in prospettiva, rendendo le persone si sentono a proprio agio. I am fairly sure in my mind that I am not alone, that you or at least some people you know are worried, unsure and uneasy about what may lay ahead in the very near future. Sono abbastanza certo che nella mia mente che non sono soli, che lei, o almeno alcune persone che conosci sono preoccupati, a disagio e incerti su cosa può stabilire in anticipo in un futuro molto prossimo. But I am also fairly sure that there is only a very limited ability for a blog to put people at ease. Ma sono anche abbastanza sicuro che non vi è solo una limitata capacità di un blog per mettere le persone a proprio agio.

There is a quote for you, it’s from the film Stranger than Fiction and raises that very important point, your life is whatever you make it, if you choose to you could do nothing with your life but eat pancakes. What the film is trying to say (Or at least, how I interpreted it) is that life is whatever you make it. Someone may choose to live the type of life where they eat pancakes, the key thing is that they are still living. I am uneasy about the future, I don’t know exactly what is going to happen. Sono a disagio per il futuro, non so esattamente cosa sta per accadere. I don’t know if I’ll get a job (So far I have been far from successful) nor do I know where I will live. Non so se io ottenere un posto di lavoro (Finora sono stato lontano dal successo), né posso sapere dove si vive. But that doesn’t mean I can’t look forward too it. Ma ciò non significa che non posso guardare avanti anche in questo. I know it will work out alright in the end and I for one am very excited. I am at a turning point, anyone who is finishing university or anyone else for that matter, is at a turning point. We are forever able to make choices, we can choose to do whatever we please with our lives and make of it as we will.
